The Green Book ------ New Microsoft Dynamics CRM Implementation Guide

Microsoft just released a new Microsoft CRM 3.0 Implementation Guide that you download directly from MSFT.

The implementation guide includes the obligatory 200-page technical step-by-step manual.  Additionally you will receive a great library of discovery and documentation forms. These work documents can be part of a documentation process for your CRM deployment.

Check it out.

I guess after all these years of bad press you would think the folks that brought you the app would actually figure out how to deploy it, not just install it.  So to that end, Microsoft includes in this download about 25 nicely-designed forms to help you capture your thought and organize the data prior to installation. Things like user lists, and pick list values.

What Msft should be doing is putting together a little SharePoint site template, not using Word Docs but using info path forms, to put the data into a useful staging table that the customization manager then reads and does the actual pick list building automagically.

Also, it should list the milestones in CRM deployments.  Get some experts in the field to help build the deployment strategy.  Record the classes and offer it a part of the solution for free.

That would be innovative.
