TIP: Getting a List of CRM Custom Fields into Excel


For many reasons, a list of all the custom fields and types would be helpful during the configuration and design process.

I was aware that you could use the list.aspx page to get it. 

That is, if you go to
 
http://<CRM_Server Name>/sdk/list.aspx 

you can drill into an object and find out all of the fields, etc.  Very cool.  But I want it in Excel remember.... 

Here is a cool trick.   When you get to the list you want in IE:  File | Save As |  filename.mht

Save it to your desktop.  Now right click on the file and open it with Excel.  

And Boom.
