It seems like there have probably been some issues with the Scribe Data Migration tool and Scribe.  GoldMine is on version 8.0 now and Scribe is now specifically only supporting... well here is what they are saying.

The Scribe Adapter for GoldMine supports GoldMine versions 5.5 through version 6.5 only. No other versions are supported.

*For GoldMine version 5.5, the Adapter for GoldMine requires the GoldMine API version 5.50.10307.0 dated 3/8/2001 or later.

I have used this tool before. It is the only way to fly if you are doing anything with a customized GM migration.  That is because most of these projects also become a data clean up projects.
